Proof of life

If you live abroad and you receive a French pension, you must provide proof of life by sending us a certificate of life each year.

The certificate of life: how does it work?

You receive a certificate of life every year. You must submit it every year, regardless of your nationality, by having it completed by the competent local authority in your country of residence (e.g. town hall, police station, etc.) to avoid the suspension of your pension payment.

With the online service "Submit my Certificate of Life", you can receive and submit your certificate of life to all your pension funds, at the same time. This online service simplifies your procedures!

When the service is active, you will receive an email notification. You can then log into your personal area to collect your certificate, have it completed by the competent local authority in your country of residence, and return it within 2 months.

Important

If your certificate of life is not submitted within 2 months, the payment of your pension will be suspended.

If you cannot connect to your personal area, your document can be sent by post to the following address: Centre de traitement retraite à l’étranger – CS 13 999 Esvres – 37 321 TOURS Cedex 9 – France.
